I am a cognitive behavioral therapist with 21 years experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I received my intensive DBT training through behavior tech in 1997. Since being intensively trained I have successfully utilized DBT in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I found DBT to be tremendously successful for individuals and families who demonstrate suicidal and parasuicidal behaviors, emotional instability, unstable relationships, unstable self image, chronic emptiness and low self esteem. In March 2018 I received intensive training in DBT-PE which is an evidence based model for treating PTSD.
I am one of the founding members of the DBT Team of Central Connecticut. We are a group of professionals who have been intensively trained and specialize in DBT and DBT-PE. Members of the consultation group include Louis Graff, M.D., Hsiao Ching Chu, Psy.D., and Jessica Weinstein, LPC.
I spent 18 years in residential treatment working with teens and their families where I developed DBT programs for boys and girls.
From 2006-2012 I was a program director for a DCF funded group home for males with problem sexual behavior. I developed a DBT program for these males as well as using other cognitive behaviorial models to address sexually offensive behaviors.
I hold Masters Degrees in Educational and School Psychology and a Doctoral Degree in Educational Psychology.
